Quality, genuine young horse with an exceptional temperament, excellent foundation and outstanding jumping potential.
Alfie has been owned by me since he was 5 months old, so I have known, handled and brought him on throughout his entire life.
Privately owned and carefully and lovingly brought on slowly and correctly, he has never been pushed beyond what was appropriate for his age. He has developed a huge solid foundation for a 4yo, something that is increasingly difficult to find in young horses.
He is extremely people-friendly and exceptionally quiet and straightforward in all his daily handling. He is easy to:
* Catch — comes when called
* Groom and pick up his feet
* Tack up
* Mount from a block or gate
* Load
* Clip
* Hot shoe — has been hot shod every time
Alfie has done a lot of hacking, both alone and in company, and is good with traffic. His extensive hacking has given him valuable experience, confidence and an excellent foundation outside the arena.
He has a great jump, with good athleticism, scope and plenty of potential to progress as he matures.
Excellent performance pedigree
Alfie is by LAGANS OBOS QUALITY, with OBOS Quality 004, Quick Star and Cavalier Royale prominent in his sire line.
His dam is Thoroughbred x Irish Draught, giving Alfie a desirable combination of athleticism, substance, quality and versatility.
Alfie is now ready to realise his full potential with a new experienced owner who wants a genuine, quality young horse to produce and develop, whether with the aim of competing or simply having a very enjoyable horse for the future.
This is a genuine and very sad sale due to my health, and absolutely not because of any fault with Alfie.
He has not been rushed or heavily campaigned. Instead, he has been given the time to grow, mature and develop correctly, leaving his new owner with the opportunity to put their own stamp on a very promising young horse.
A horse as genuine, well-handled, nicely bred and correctly brought on as Alfie is very difficult to find. He has the foundation — now he needs the right experienced person to take him forward and unlock his full potential.
Experienced home only.
