Big Mac is a 5 year old Percheron x QH gelding standing 17.1 hands high. This is a classy, well broke, and smart horse that is wise beyond his years. Riding him, you would think he was 15. We can not express enough how great he has been for the smaller kids as a confidence builder. Once they were able to feel safe on such a big guy it has unlocked all the horses in the barn for them. He simply makes Horse Riding FUN. He knows every move, yet is equally safe enough for the children to take lessons and play around with. Mac is a jack of all trades, and a reliable parter on any adventure. He has won every trail challenge he's been to so far, he is just so much fun to put through the obstacles! He sees new things and continues to do his job like he's seen it all before. He is also broke to drive! We have taken him to eventing and working equitation clinics and events with both a professional, and kids, the saddle and he has never put a foot wrong, only impressing us more and more every time he goes out. He is the type of horse that is equal parts beauty and brains. He will just as easily be a show horse as he will be a husband or guest horse on the trails. He's happy doing any job as long as he gets lots of love from his rider afterward. Mac is a kind and willing horse that genuinely enjoys human partnership. The best thing about a horse like Mac, is that when they are born naturally this safe and quiet, with the phenomenal start he has had, he will just age like a fine wine!

In the ring, Mac can do it all! Bareback and bridleless, English, western, and dressage, even go around with the kids in their lessons. He will ride in a frame or on the buckle, and is soft in the bridle. Mac has a good neck rein, stop, and will pivot, side pass, shoulder/haunches in. We have introduced him to various small jumps on the cross country field. At his age we don't do much jumping, but we do bring them around to pop over all of the small fences to be sure they will be brave and honest. He absolutely has the scope and bravery for it when he is ready! He jumped around with no cares in the world, cantered through the water, and stepped over ditches like he's seen it a million times before. With the children, he is kind and forgiving. He will walk, trot, and canter smoothly and slowly, even with the most timid of riders. He is truly wise beyond his years and intuitive to what his rider needs from him.

On the trails and off property, Mac is safe for any rider. Throw the husband, the kids, or your non-horsey friend on him and know they will be safe and have a great ride. You can go for a hack with the girls after a long day at work, or load him up and take him on a weekend camping trip through rough, rocky terrain, and have the perfect horse for both jobs. He swims, crosses streams, tackles steep hills, and is sure footed across any obstacle. He is safe in traffic, and has been driven, and ridden down busy roadways. Mac is used to going off property weekly for various schooling trips, clinics, and trail rides. He is easy to load, and a very god boy on and tied to the trailer. He requires no prep, just load up and go!

In the barn, Mac loves his people! He is polite with wonderful ground manners, and is so kind and sweet to be around. He is happy living inside or out, and currently lives out in a mixed herd. Mac loves to be groomed, braided, and doted on. He is used to kids, dogs, goats, and more running around the barn, and it doesn't phase him one bit. Big Mac is an easy keeper with no maintenance or quirks.
