This horse KNOWS what a true old fashioned neck rein is, you never have to touch the reins with two hands. Chico has proven himself time and time again both in the arena and out on the ranch. He’s been a trusted partner for all aspects of ranch life from checking fences and gathering big groups of cattle, to pen work, doctoring, and even roping in the pasture. He’s seen every phase of ranch work and handles it all with a willing attitude. Beyond ranch duties, Chico has also been our go to for enjoyable trail rides whether in a group or solo on a quiet afternoon. He confidently crosses rivers, logs, steep hills, and open fields, and he takes wildlife, traffic, dogs, and other people on the trails all in stride without fuss. He has smooth transitions and an all around FUN handle that make him a blast. His smooth trot and lope make him comfortable to sit, and he’s a pretty mover with a great extended trot. Chico is easy to haul, stands quietly to saddle, tie, shoe and bathe. With his athleticism and responsiveness we do recommend that he goes to an experienced rider.
