Maverick may just be the most unique cross bred that has ever been infront of my camera. He is a stunning 8yr old strawberry roan Gypsy X Haflinger cross with a long flaxen mane, forelock, tail and lighter feathering along with some dark speckles throughout his body. And besides his extremely flashy coloring, this gelding’s conformation, size and build is ideal! He stands just a hair shy of 14.3hh, boasting a lot of bone and substance without being too heavy and still keeping a very clean and athletic build. He also has such a beautiful little head and big doe eyes.
Maverick is a very gentle soul by nature. Quiet and easy going. He rides both English and western, and absolutely loves the trails and outdoors. He is great in traffic, riding down the roads, through the fields, woods, and LOVES to be in the water. He is great in groups, or out on solo rides. He also knows all the basics in the arena, lopes/canters off on cue, side passes, pivots, will do pattern work, and all the arena obstacles as well. He has been taken over some small jumps, he carries the flag, drags the tire, is great with tarps, and has been used to pull the drag to work up the arena. Very easy, uncomplicated and straightforward to ride and operate. He was also started as a youngster in harness, and has been driven to town as well, although the past year or so he has mostly been enjoyed under saddle so he may need a refresher on the driving.
This horse quickly became one of the favorites in the barn, and enjoyed by the entire family from riders 12yrs of age on up. Whether it be fun arena rides, going down the road, or out hitting the trails. In the barn Maverick is a welcomed addition. He stalls great, or loves his turnout time with others. ties, cross ties, and is just a joy to be around and a very easy keeper. Loads and hauls great and is wonderful in new environments. Maverick is the perfect age, with a solid all around start and a whole life ahead of him to go enjoy. This horse wants to be your best friend, companion and wants to enjoy all of life’s adventures with you.
Maverick has been nothing but sound, solid and the epitome of health since day one. He requires no special cares of any kind, is blemish free, and will fit in to anyone’s program, routine, or set up. UTD on all cares, fresh coggins and has an appt to get his teeth done with Tuesday (10/11) so he will be ready to go enjoy.
You would be hard pressed to find another one just like him.
