Sir Austin is a gorgeous, 5 year old Gypsy Vanner gelding. He stands 14.3 hands tall and has perfect conformation. Austin is dapple gray and white spotted, has a full and thick mane and tail, and lots of feathering. He wears a number 3 shoe, is big boned and is heavy bodied. Austin has a great personality; he is super friendly and well mannered.

Austin has been with us the last year, and he is a favorite in our barn. While being with us in the last year, he has become a phenomenal riding horse, exceptional driving horse and a superb trick horse. Austin lays down from the ground and lays down from the saddle to be mounted or dismounted. He also sits down like a dog. He will side pass to a mounting block, truck, log or whatever you find to get on him. He will even answer yes and no questions by nodding or shaking his head.

Austin rides around really quiet and he is simple and easy to get along with. He is also safe and gentle, as our 5-year-old daughter rides him and gets along with him great. He is also handy broke where he one hand neck reins, lopes very nice smooth circles, taking correct leads both ways, he has a big stop, side passes both ways, and he will pivot on his back end doing 360 degree turns, while being soft in the mouth the whole time. Austin is also an excellent trail horse. He will ride with ease up and down the steepest mountains through the deepest creeks and mud, over logs and on rough, rocky terrain. Everyone in the family has spent time trail riding Austin and we all enjoy him!

Austin is also great around all sorts of livestock, wildlife, and other animals. We’ve checked and moved cattle with him many times. He’s even been on cattle drives and pasture roped off. We’ve squirrel hunted off him where he’s had dogs running all around him and he’s seen plenty deer and turkey out on the trail. He’s also been around our sheep and goats and had barn cats running under his feet. He is laid back and doesn’t mind any of that at all.

We’ve also taken Austin to local horse shows where he was a head turner and came away with first place prizes. He handled the crowd, lights and noise perfectly and was a gentleman the whole time. Overall, Austin is very people friendly and enjoys being around you! He is quiet and clean in the stall and easy to catch in the field. He is not an alpha horse and gets along well with other horses. He is patient in the cross ties and stands tied excellent. He stands for the farrier, loads and hauls perfectly and loves a bath!

Austin is used to the tarp, whips and guns as you can see in the video. He is completely traffic safe and is also an excellent driving horse. We’ve driven him to town many times. He is responsive to your cues whether you are riding him, driving him or working on the ground. Austin is an amazing animal with a willing to please attitude.
