For more details and to register visit: www.Horsebid.com CONSIGNOR CONTACT: CM Farms 717-875-2061 LOCATION: Gap, PA BREED: Friesian/Belgian REGISTERED: No COLOR: Bay HEIGHT: 16.2-3 AGE: 3 GENDER: Gelding How drop-dead gorgeous is this guy!? 🤩 Rodger is a coming 4-year-old Friesian/Belgian cross gelding. Already standing around 16.2–3hh, this boy has legs for days (and is still growing!). Rodger has acquired quite a few nicknames (as all the favorites do) including Rodge, Rodgie, Rodgie Poo, Baby Rodge, Rodgie Bear, and any other play on Rodge you can think of. 😆 He’s been an absolute joy to have in our barn—so willing to please and incredibly athletic. Although we normally offer the Cadillacs of the horse world, Rodger is definitely more of the Porsche—the sports car of the draft cross world! He’s a lighter build with a good work ethic, and he is a light, responsive ride! He’s probably not going to be for your grandma or husband, but if you want forward-thinking while still being safe and sensible—don’t pass up this guy! The options are endless with him. Rodger has been a blast to bring along under saddle. He’s a horse with incredible self-carriage and balance for his young age. He’s an overachiever and so intelligent, so he will require a vigilant rider to keep his brain and body occupied. Rodge is the type of horse that will give you exactly what you put in—the type that will make you a better rider by making you more self-aware—and the type that always answers with yes. He pays attention to your every move; whether it be posting speed, a light half-halt, a release—he clocks it all. His favorite speed is fast, though he is easily adjustable and will do a lovely slow, collected sitting trot if asked. His canter is big and floaty and will make you feel on top of the world! He has easy transitions and ground-covering movement. He responds to your seat and voice for a whoa, and already leg-yields better than horses twice his age! He loves a quiet, soft rider and will not respond well to a heavy hand or rough person. He has zero bad habits or vices and is never one to pull something dirty or be spooky or dumb. If anything—he just tries his little heart out too much! Rodge has an incredible head on his shoulders for his age, and he is such a unique one. He is sweet as can be—just a big baby with the whole world ahead of him. On the trail, Rodger has miles under his belt and he loves to go out for an adventure! He’s been on hunter paces and paper chases this fall, and we could see him being an incredibly fun one to hunt! He keeps his brains in a busy environment, and he’s sure-footed and reliable. He keeps his forward nature while being out; however, he is not one that is constantly pulling on you. He’s even popped over the logs and coops while out, and he has SO much scope. We’ve taken Rodge cross-country schooling once to introduce him, and he blew us away with his talent! At his age, it’s important not to do too much jumping, and we’ve only introduced it; however, we have no doubt this guy will easily be able to surpass 3'6" once he’s more mature! If he’s continued in that direction, we have no doubt he’d shine like the star he is. Roger is brave with creek crossings, bridges, and tunnels. He will go right into the river for a dip. He’s cantered through the fields and windy wooded trails without batting an eye. He’s seen everything there is to see on a busy trail and is truly wise beyond his years. Under harness, Rodger is a hard worker—and quite lovely! He’s straightforward and has the basics down, and we really couldn’t ask him to do much better at this age. He’s responsive, willing, and reliable. He hasn’t been driven into the ground or worked hard. This guy takes everything in stride and is willing to put in the work, no questions asked. His big movement will make you stop and stare—he’s that eye-catching! We can only imagine how handsome he’ll be once he grows up more. 🙌🏼 In the barn is where Rodge acquired his nickname “Baby Rodge,” because he is just the biggest lovebug there ever was. He’s the type of horse that will thrive off having his own human to bind with. He has a quiet, stoic demeanor at first, but once he knows you, he’ll be digging through your pockets for treats and nuzzling you for pets. He’s always so well-behaved—he stands to groom and tack up, to bathe, and for the farrier. This guy is quiet as a mouse in his stall with no bad habits. He’s the type you can lead in or out to the pasture with three other horses in tow—he’s THAT well-mannered. He loads and trailers quietly and gets along with everyone. He tries to be a good boy and please in every single situation. He has quickly made himself a barn favorite, and we adore this boy for all he is. If you think you’re a good fit for Rodger, reach out to us! UTD on shots, farrier, dentist, deworming, and coggins.
