Quatro is an 11yr old Friesian X Paint cross gelding with the build and conformation we all dream of, and the chrome that sets him apart from all the rest. This gelding is put together so well you can’t fault him. And to top it off he boasts a beautiful head, four high white socks, and a flash of white in his tail. He is thick, tall, athletic, and gorgeous. He is truly one of a kind!
This gelding has been in our program for the past 9 months. But our knowledge of him goes back even further, as we know the past 2 owners of him so we know his history well. Quatro has a whole lot of training under his belt and is very well versed both in and out of the arena, but his skills in the arena is where he truly shines. He has had formal dressage training, and dabbled in some jumping as well. This horse would absolutely shine in the western dressage/dressage arena or the working equitation. He loves pattern work, rides comfortably on contact and is a naturally balanced and cadenced mover. His canter/lope departures are flawless, beautiful collection and extension work, has lovely and correct lateral work and is equally talented in all three gaits. And best of all he is so comfortable, easy to ride, and absolutely loves to work. Quatro also enjoys time out on the trails, both alone or in groups, and hacks out beautifully both down the road or in the fields. He rides the same in western or English tack, snaffle, curb bit or a double bridle.
Quatro is the kind of horse that prefers his person. He tends to bond closest with his person and may test a new rider. So for that reason, we do not recommend him for a brand new beginner owner, however, we have had beginners and kids on him under our supervision and he has done great. Every rider that we have put on him (no matter thier level) has said he is the coolest horse they have ever ridden. He will also follow you around like a puppy dog, and although he has not had any formal liberty training, we feel he would naturally excel with that as well. He is EXTREMELY intelligent, and very trainable.
He carries the flag, drags the tire or logs, does obstacle courses and is a total rockstar in even the most crowded and chaotic arenas. He is great in new environments and a very easy keeper. He lives out 24/7 or stalls beautifully, and he is the same horse even with months off between rides. He ties, cross ties, bathes, clips, loads and hauls with ease. He is UTD on all cares including dental, vaccines, coggins and farrier. He is 100% sound, clean legged, great feet, and blemish free.
