Auffällige barocke Spanier-Stute - Perlino, 11 Jahre, 162 cm

Roya stands out immediately: due to her harmonious, baroque body conformation with an exceptional Roman nose, and because of her rare Perlino color featuring a small star on her forehead and blue eyes. As she is not only visually striking but also possesses a special character, she is looking for a person who will accept her as she is, with her enormous potential and her unique quirks.

First, a few details: Cruzado, 1.62 m at the withers, turned 11 years old in January 2026. He is robust, has excellent hoof quality, is farrier- and loading-trainable, nervy, and calmly goes out alone in the terrain. In the riding arena, he performs lateral movements in walk and trot. He is part of a mixed herd and ranks high in the pecking order. He tends to seek out a mare as his best friend, whom he sometimes guards jealously.

Now, about the special quirks… When I bought Roya (three years ago), she completely blocked during riding. Over time, she has become much more rideable, preferring to be driven rather than run, but she still checks with every new rider whether they are serious. If she doesn’t take someone seriously, she zones out and becomes extremely sluggish (once the right buttons are found, forward movement is no problem). Unfortunately, she is not suitable for my riding lessons. Under pressure (such as at competitions or in exam situations), she also blocks and withdraws into a slow pace.

Perhaps this will improve once she has her person and is gradually introduced to such situations with patience — in my opinion, she was overwhelmed during her initial training, which caused her to dissociate frequently at the beginning. Currently, I see her more as a relaxed trail horse, who can also work in the arena — but she wouldn’t be happy with purely dressage work. She enjoys and is familiar with ground work.

Roya is a wonderful horse — I could imagine her in a home environment — but she needs someone with as much ego as she has. :)
